Some folks are asking what is meant by “Tyranny of the Majority”. What it does not mean is that I disagree with the concept of majority rule. Of course the majority should rule if the people have elected them to do so. However, the majority of elected officials still need to follow the constitution and the rule of law. We have entered a period of history where the party ruling in Washington (the Democrat Party) does not think they have to follow the constitution or the rules that the two legislatures have set-up during the past 200 years that give a voice to the minority party. The reason the Democrats are able to get away with this is because the vast majority of the mainstream media are also members of the Democrat Party and have vacated their post as a watchdog of ALL politicians regardless of party. The fact that the US Senate did not pass a budget for over 3 years without the media talking about it is all the proof one needs, even though there is tons of other evidence to support the premise. If a Republican Senate had failed to present a budget for a vote for over 3 years the media would have spoken about it every day non-stop. Whose job is it to hold the US Senate accountable for not doing their job? It is the media and the President. Neither have spoken a word about it. Instead, both of them have blamed the Republicans in the House who, by the way, have passed budgets in 2011 and 2012. By refusing to pass a new budget presented by a new Congress the Democrats have successfuly nullified due process. We are still living under the 2009 budget, yet Obama was able to lecture Republicans about the spending of money they have never approved of. Thier only course to stop the 2009 budget from being the budget into infinity is by not increasing the debt ceiling and essentially shutting down many facets of the Federal Govt. They have been unwilling to do this, and have basically removed the debt ceiling.
For many decades the Democrat Party has shown a disdain for using due process to advance their agenda. In Wisconsin they left the state entirely so that a legal vote could not take place. Their prefered method of advancing an agenda is through the court system instead of the legislatures so they will not be held accountable for their vote. I am fine if Obama and the Democrat Party propose an agenda and attempt to pass it through the legislature. This may cause compromise, which is something 43 other presidents had to deal with during the previous 222 years before Obama. Because the people voted to have the Republican House be a check against Obama we now need to ignore due process? This is what the media is saying. How dare we ask questions about border control, the selling of guns to drug lords and terrorists, and the deaths of American border patrol agents, diplomats and ambassadors?
